An FoHF constructs an investment portfolio of shares in other [[hedge fund]]s. Different FoHFs will have different criteria for selecting investee funds. A fund may invest in a number of funds of one type to gain exposure to the type but a variety of fund managers, perhaps, or a wide spread of fund types as a different way of spreading exposure, etc..
