Peso is a widely used name for the currencies of a number of different countries including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, the Philippines and Uruguay.


A bill of exchange (draft) which has been accepted by a bank.


A draft accepted by a bank constitutes an unconditional and binding obligation on the part of the bank to pay the draft at maturity.
The peso was historically a Spanish silver coin.
