The Kotter framework is a change management tool incorporating 8 steps for leading change:

#Create a sense of urgency
#Build a guiding coalition
#Form a strategic vision
#Enlist a volunteer army
#Enable action by removing barriers
#Generate short-term wins
#Sustain acceleration
#Institute change

The framework and steps were identified by Dr John P Kotter, and documented - among other places - in his 1996 book ''Leading Change''.
