Markets in Financial Instruments Directive.

Directive 2004/39/EC of the European Parliament and the Council.


MiFID regulation applies to:

  1. Regulated markets (RMs)
  2. Multilateral trading facilities (MTFs) and
  3. Systematic internalisers (SIs).


The first MiFID Directive of 2004 has been superseded by MiFID II.
