CDC is an abbreviation for CDC Group plc.
It is funded by the UK government with the dual objectives of:
- Supporting business growth that lifts people out of poverty; and
- Making a financial return.
CDC was formerly known as the Commonwealth Development Corporation.
The new name of the CDC, with effect from April 2022, is British International Investment plc.
