(UKAR).
The UK Corporate Governance Code - issued by the Financial Reporting Council - sets out standards of good practice for larger companies in relation to their board leadership and effectiveness, remuneration, accountability and relations with shareholders.


UKAR is the UK government owned holding company that temporarily held the formerly independent Bradford & Bingley plc (B&B) and NRAM Limited.
It is sometimes abbreviated to 'the UK Code' or 'CGC'.


These business have now been sold.


The Corporate Governance Code updated and replaced the former Combined Code.


UKAR also formerly administered the UK government's Help to Buy Mortgage Guarantee Scheme through its corporate services subsidiary UKARcs. This responsibility was transferred to the UK's National Savings and Investments (NSI or NS&I) in April 2019.
