Special resolution regime.


Abbreviation for Special Purpose Acquisition Companies.
Provisions for [[resolution]] of failing financial institutions under appropriate legislation and regulation. In many countries provisions extend beyond banks to certain other types of institution.


SPACs are companies formed to raise money from investors, and then use the money raised to acquire another operating business.
For example, in the US under [[OLA]] and [[FDIC]] and in the EU under the [[BRRD]].
