Whale is an abbreviation for 'whale investor' a very large market participant whose actions, alone or with others, have the capacity to move market prices.

The term is most commonly used in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency markets.


2. Markets.

By extension any very large market participant whose actions, alone or with others, have the capacity to move market prices or to influence any entire market or sector.
