European Union - European Commission.

DG MARKT was the former Internal Market and Services Directorate General, one of the Directorates General and specialised services of the European Commission.

DG MARKT's main role was to co-ordinate the Commission’s policy on the European Single Market and to seek the removal of obstacles to trade, in particular in the field of services and financial markets.

In 2014 DG MARKT was replaced by the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW).
