The EU's markets in crypto-assets (MiCA) regulation defines a crypto-asset service provider as a business that offers any one or more of the following to citizens in the EU:
- Custody and administration of crypto assets on behalf of a third party.
- A crypto exchange service or running an exchange.
- Crypto advisory services, or information defined as advice on investing in crypto assets.
