The Audit and Assurance Council considers and advises the Board of the Financial Reporting Council and its Codes and Standards Committee on audit and assurance matters.
The former Audit and Assurance Council considered and advised the Board of the UK's Financial Reporting Council (FRC) on audit and assurance matters.


The duties of the former Auditing Practices Board are now undertaken by the Audit and Assurance Council.
The FRC now carries out this work through its Regulatory Standards & Codes Committee and its Supervision Committee.
