Unstructured continuing professional development (CPD) means less formal - or more self-directed - CPD activities, for example reading relevant professional journals and other professional literature.
Historically, many organisations' CPD requirements have given greater weight to structured activities - or set a minimum level of structured CPD activities - compared with unstructured CPD.
