Tax - government finances.

Stealth tax is a derogatory term for taxation, or changes in taxation, designed to go unnoticed by voters or taxpayers.

For example, indirect taxes or changes in tax-free allowances, or not increasing tax-free allowances in line with inflation.

Contrasted with more noticeable direct taxes, or direct tax rates, for example on personal income or corporate profits.
