CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme

Environmental policy. The UK's first mandatory carbon trading scheme to address climate change and to promote energy saving. It aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions not already covered by climate change agreements and the Emission Trading Scheme, by reducing the UK's carbon footprint and meeting the emissions reduction targets set out in the Climate Change Act of 2008.
Previously called the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC).
