Environmental concerns - greenhouse gases - industrial processes.

Carbon capture is a process implemented at major sources of greenhouse gas emissions, to prevent carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere.

Examples of major sources include chemical plants and certain types of power plant.

The captured carbon dioxide is then transported and stored.

Carbon capture is sometimes known as carbon capture and storage (CCS), or carbon capture and sequestration.
