In the ESG investment context, corporate engagement and shareholder action means employing shareholder power to influence corporate behaviour through direct corporate engagement (such as communicating directly with senior management and/or boards of organisations), filing or co-filing shareholder proposals, and proxy voting that is guided by ESG guidelines.
