Environmental social and governance (ESG) - investment.

An activist investor is one who seeks to influence major decision making at a company by voicing concerns, engaging in a dialogue with management, or lobbying others for support.

Activist investors sometimes take a stakes in companies with the express purpose of bringing about significant changes.


In the context of equity investment, activist investors are sometimes also known as a shareholder activists.
