A perspective on the economy and marketing that the most important scarce resource, especially online, is users' attention (information being both cheap and abundant).

Leading to efforts to maximise users' attention and time spent on particular websites or web pages.

Reflected in the provision of 'free' resources and services, paid for by the users' attention and the information gatherered about the users' habits and potential purchases.

From a personal perspective, the prudent management of limited available attention, mindful - among other things - of advertisers' efforts to divert and hold individuals' attention.
