The term 'Basel IV' is used by some commentators to refer to discussions and proposals for changes to follow Basel III.

Basel IV, where the concept is used, is sometimes written Basel 4.

The final elements of the Basel III framework agreed in December 2017.

To be implemented by the sixth Capital Requirements Directive (CRD VI or CRD 6) and the third Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR III or CRR 3).
