The common currency of the majority of the member states of the European Union. 
A prefix meaning that currency is held in a different jurisdiction from its country of origin.
Its currency code is EUR.
 
EU member states which do <u>not</u> currently use the euro are: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
