International trade

Fair trade aims to establish minimum economic, social and environmental standards for relatively disadvantaged producers.

Fair trade certification, labelling and pricing results in higher consumer prices for 'fair trade' (or fairtrade) products in wealthier countries, the fair trade premium being allocated for for the betterment of conditions in the producers' communities.
