HOPE - possibly the worst 4-letter word that you will hear in your Treasury career.

When an operating business leader tells you that "he hopes the [insert one of: FX rate, commodity price, interest rate] will come back and our losses will go away" it is a clear signal that a hedge strategy has failed.
