Banking

(RFI).

A semi-formal document that a customer uses to confirm that use of a service provided is justified or to solicit ideas on how to solve a particular business or operational problem.

The process helps to narrow down the list of banks that will subsequently be asked to bid to provide services, usually using a request for proposal.
