The UK Corporate Governance Code - issued by the Financial Reporting Council - sets out standards of good practice for larger companies in relation to their board leadership and effectiveness, remuneration, accountability and relations with shareholders.


'Greenspan put' is an abbreviation for 'Greenspan put option', also known as the 'central bank put option'.
It is sometimes abbreviated to 'the UK Code'.


The concept of the central bank put option is an assumption that central banks will intervene to prevent excessive falls in equity and other market valuations, usually by reducing interest rates.
 
The Corporate Governance Code updated and replaced the former Combined Code.
