The abbreviation commonly used for the United States Department of the Treasury - commonly called the US Treasury.


It is also used to refer to obligations of the United States Treasury - commonly bonds. So investors may refer to investing in USTs. One may hear the (interest rate) spread on a corporate bond above that on US Treasury bonds as "over USTs".
