Among other financial institutions, it is home to the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

By extension, the whole of New York's historic financial district.

The equivalent in London is the Square Mile.

By further extension, all of the professional participants in US financial markets.

Sometimes abbreviated to the Street.
