Fair dealing
From ACT Wiki
Law - intellectual property - copyright - UK.
Copyright is the exclusive right to reproduce - or to authorise others to reproduce - software, artistic, dramatic literary or musical works.
Under UK law, fair dealing is a limitation to copyright.
Under fair dealing, it is permissible to quote brief excerpts from copyright material for fair purposes including research, criticism, review or parody.
It is similar to fair use under US law, but fair dealing is a narrower group of exceptions, being limited to purposes expressly set out in the relevant UK legislation (the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988).
