A relatively small retail bank.


In the UK, challenger banks include the following banks which wrote to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in 2016 about the UK corporation tax bank surcharge and bank levy:

  • Charter Savings Bank
  • Close Brothers
  • Hampden & Co.
  • Metro Bank
  • One Savings Bank
  • Paragon Bank
  • Secure Trust Bank
  • Shawbrook Bank
  • Tesco Bank
