Council of the European Union

European Union (EU).
(EU Council).
The Council of the European Union is known informally as the Council of Ministers.
It meets to discuss, amend and approve proposals from the European Commission.
Its members are government ministers from each EU member state.
Depending on the policy area being discussed, different national government ministers attend.
