Payments - Europe - instant payments - cards.

(EPI).

The European Payments Initiative was founded in 2020 to create a new pan-European payment solution incorporating Instant Payments and cards.

Take steps to accommodate EPI
"For many years, the EU has been keen to see a pan-European acceptance network that can compete with Visa and Mastercard.
In 2022, it is anticipated that the European Payments Initiative will become operational.
While it is hoped that the new network will sit alongside the existing organisations, businesses will need to make sure they have taken steps to accommodate this new entrant."
