In relation to a security, or to a company whose securities are listed, similar to 'listed'.

Prices are quoted on an exchange, where the securities are listed.


2.

In relation to any traded asset, a price or rate expressed under the convention for the particular market in question.

Certain market conventions may result in price quotes for assets or services that sound good until you understand them more fully.

Hence why it is so important to learn how to restate quoted prices onto a fully comparable basis, to enable meaningful consideration of them.
