Global Financial Crisis (GFC) - US Treasury.

TARP is an abbreviation for Troubled Assets Relief Program, which was run by the US Treasury.

It was established to help stabilise the US financial system, restart economic growth, and prevent avoidable bankruptcies in the aftermath of the GFC.

TARP invested over $400bn in the period 2008-2010.
