Vesting

1. Property - options - compensation - remuneration.

A transfer or grant of ownership.

For example, the grant of share options to an employee.

In employee compensation, delaying the vesting of options provides an incentive for the employee to stay with the same employer.

2. Pensions.

The process by which members of a Defined Benefit pension scheme become entitled to benefits whether or not they remain an active member of the scheme.
