An organisation, activity or project that neither increases nor reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
This is often achieved by balancing carbon emissions caused by funding an equivalent amount of carbon savings elsewhere in the world.
- Anglia Water's approach to green fundraising
- "The company has pledged to be carbon-neutral by 2050, for instance, and has committed to environmental projects ranging from wetland conservation to flood resilience."
- The Treasurer magazine, June 2018, p39 - Jane Pilcher, group treasurer, Anglia Water.
Also written carbon neutral, without a hyphen.
