1. Legal services.

A person with a right of audience in legal proceedings, who argues a case on behalf of a client.


2. Policy - decision making.

Any individual or organisation that presents information and arguments on behalf of others.

3. Verb.

To present information and arguments to support a particular view, organisation or interest group.

For example, the UK's Green Finance Initiative aims to advocate for specific regulatory and policy proposals that might enhance the green finance sector worldwide.
