Regulation - insurance - US.

(NAIC).

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners is a collaboration between the state insurance regulators in each of the United States.

It is not itself a regulator.


It provides tools and resources to help regulators set standards and best practices, provide regulatory support functions, and education on US state-based insurance regulation.

Among other work, it publishes a methodology for evaluating the credit strength of private placement bonds.


It was established in 1871, and is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri.
