The Office of the United States Trade Representative is an agency of more than 200 specialists with experience in trade issues and regions of the world.


The USTR was established in 1962 and has offices in Washington, Geneva and Brussels.


Its work includes:

  • Negotiating directly with governments to create trade agreements
  • Resolving trade disputes
  • Participating in global trade policy organisations.


The USTR also meets with governments, business groups, legislators and public interest groups to gather input on trade issues and to discuss trade policy.
