The European Community - also known as the European Communities - consolidated the European Economic Community, the European Coal and Steel Community and the European Atomic Energy Community in 1965.

The European Community is part of the European Union (EU).

The European Economic Community was established in 1957.

The European Coal and Steel Community was established in 1951.
