Environmental concerns - emissions - Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - Paris Agreement.
The climate change target of 1.5 degrees Celsius is to limit the maximum global average temperature rise to 1.5 degrees, compared with "pre-industrial" levels.
The reference period for "pre-industrial" levels is the average for the period 1850-1900.
