1. International poverty line - extreme poverty - absolute measure - World Bank.
The main international measure of extreme poverty is the number of people living on less than $1.90 per day.
This figure was adopted by the World Bank in 2015.
2. National poverty lines.
National poverty lines are generally higher, especially in developed countries.
They are more often measured in relative terms.
For example, people living on less than 60% of national median household income.
3. Broader poverty measures - education & infrastructure.
The Multidimensional Poverty Measure (MPM) factors in deprivation in education and access to basic infrastructure, in addition to the monetary threshold of $1.90.
