(GWP).
GWP is a relative measure of the amount by which a greenhouse gas emission would warm the earth.
The reference is carbon dioxide, CO2.
By definition, the GWP of carbon dioxide is 1.
Using this measure, the GWPs of other greenhouse gases are quantified on this scale.
