1. Environmental concerns - social concerns.
Sustainable activities are ones that do not degrade the physical environment or other necessary conditions for well being, taking account of the long term environmental and other effects of an organisation's activities.
Sustainable activities have a number of important dimensions in treasury and finance, including environmental sustainability, financial sustainability and social sustainability.

More broadly, referring to anything that is able to continue over a period of time.
